Laka Insurance Retail Widget

As part of a concept project for Laka, I designed a quick-quote widget to be embedded within bike retailer websites. The aim was to encourage insurance sign-ups at the point of purchase by introducing cover in a way that felt natural, transparent, and non-disruptive. I analysed the bike-buying journey and recommended two key placements: during bike configuration and at checkout. The final design offered a compact, easy-to-use interface that pre-populated bike details, required minimal input, and delivered clear, trustworthy information to support decision-making.

As part of the in-house creative team at GCN, I worked across large-scale campaigns, product rollouts, and targeted marketing. Key projects included leading the Giro d’Italia 2024 campaign, supporting the rollout of the GCN+ app across multiple platforms, creating marketing for the Apple TV launch, and refining the transition from Race TV to GCN+. The work balanced bold campaign design with system thinking, ensuring consistency and clarity across digital, broadcast, and app environments.

About me

Hi, I’m Nathan. I grew up on the Isle of Wight and now live in Long Ashton, just outside Bristol. I’ve always been drawn to creativity and problem solving, which naturally led me into the world of design. I studied Graphic Communication with Typography at university, where I specialised in Branding and Identity and I’ve been hooked ever since.

Outside of work, cycling is a huge part of my life. I’ve taken part in events across the UK and Europe, and I’d still take a muddy ride on the trails over a lazy Sunday any day.

At the heart of it, I enjoy pushing myself, learning new things, and connecting with people. Whether through design, sharing ideas or racing. For me, design is as much about curiosity and communication as it is about craft and aesthetics.

Outside of work, cycling is a huge part of my life. I’ve taken part in events across the UK and Europe, and I’d still take a muddy ride on the trails over a lazy Sunday any day.
